New Article: Parrots Do Love A Routine
Do your parrots love keeping a regular schedule and routine? Mine sure do as illustrated in this cute story that I wrote a number of years ago. Be sure to leave a comment on the article if you have a story of how your own bird prefers sticking to a normal schedule. Here is a preview from the article:
Over the years, I've heard over and over again how parrots are creatures of habit. I also believe that they have an incredible sense of time, perhaps some sort of internal clock that keeps accurate track of the passing hours and minutes. I was recently reminded of just how true this is when for several days in a row I got up a little earlier than usual to get some extra work done.

Wow! What a great site! I'm a double newbie at almost 43….to Quakers, We just rescued one just after Christmas 06. sad story there. She(we think) belonged to a young boy with a termial condition and died 2 yrs ago at Thanksgiving. His mom could after 2 yrs of his passing, take care of the bird. Too many memories and heartaches. When we Got Gabby Abbigirl she hated me, her old mom and I both have blonde hair and are about the same size, we had company from after christmas til Jan 29th, enough in itself for me…..I finally calmed her down brunettes were ok, men she loves. her old owner own the trash company we get our service from thats how Abby ended up with me. they new I loved and took excellent care of my dog and cat. its a small town so everyone knows everyone….anyway, everytime abby sees or heres their gaebage truck screams her Quaker alarm….then as fast as she started, shes back to what ever she ,No WE were doing.
My animals have always been all I had most of my life, I've been know to "not play well with humans" most of them anyway since I decided to no longer let people take advantage of me. I would love to part of a Quaker organization locally to help other poorly "placed, dependant birds. I've worked in pet shops( only the finest with proper treatment of their creatures) with all kind of animals and growing up I was always the neighborhood "vet " and rescue sent. we got things from my fathers friend the game warden, that needed nursed to health, or taken to a real vet. I could tell some stories there. I even started to write a Before you buy, (or get free) pet of any kind learn the needs and ALL the things that can be required as a responsible pet owner. Most of my animals were rescues of some kind or another, right down to fish and the 25 out of 26 tanks I've had at one time. I'm down to one tank now.
As for the compter and things that one can do with a website I have to learn. I've already joined your newsletter. Can't wait to learn more.
Thanks for the opportunities you give!
