One of the forums has a sub-forum; "Post Your Avian Links".

Dani, and Siobhan got me thinkin' about Non-Aviain Links. In particular, to place Humans, and animals together for rehab.

HERE is the post were I stated my thoughts.

What are yours?

I think this is a WONDERFUL idea!

Not too long ago I was talking with my father-in-law about one of his friends' grandsons, who is autistic. He was asking me if I knew of any resources to help him, and I asked if he had ever been around horses. I used to ride quite a lot, and had experience with handicapped children and the benefits of therapeutic riding (including myself). I can't explain why, but horses seem to "get" autism, and many autistics seem to "get" horses. When you see the relationship develop, you never forget it. It's extremely powerful.

Anyway, here in Whatcom County we have the NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) accredited Northwest Therapeutic Riding Center and also a program called Animals as Natural Therapy, for children and adults with a multitude of backgrounds, but especially coming from dysfunctional families.

I have personal experience with the NWTRC, but none with AANT.

The websites are:

Animals as Natural Therapy

This site's primary focus is quaker parrots with some forums including the entire avian community.

Is there any reason these links can't be posted in the Non-Avian Pet Discussions? I am not sure there would be enough interest or posts to create a sub-forum which would only bury the information if the forum is not being used.

Thoughts?

No, I don't think there's a reason for creating a sub-forum....if a new thread was started, could it be pinned to the top of the Non-Avian Discussion forum? :)

Sure ... and then everyone add their non-avian links in the same post?

Ok ... if someone wants to start the post in the appropriate section then let me know and we will pin it..

Keeping in mind that all links must comply with forum guidelines .... users must be aware that they may NOT post links where they will personally benefit from a member following that link ... Those types of situations need to come to the moderating team via PM for approval.

Thanks

Dee

I have no personal interest in any link that I would post there...nobody is paying or compensating me in any way.
