I made these yesterday with the idea from the Sweet Potato Puffs thread. Gremlin wouldn't eat them yesterday, but today he allowed me to handfeed him some and then I found him enjoying them on his own a bit later smile.gif

2 medium sweet potatoes
1 medium squash (I used acorn squash)
1 large carrot or 1 cup baby carrots
1/2 cup broccoli (I used frozen)
1/2 cup peas (I used frozen)
1 hot pepper (I don't remember what kind I used)
1/2 cup wheat germ
Seed mixture to coat (I used oat groats)

I microwaved the sweet potatoes and squash until it was soft, then mashed them together in a big bowl. I ground up all the veggies into fine chunks, added the wheat germ, and mashed everything together. After everything was mixed well, I made small balls and rolled them in a mixture of wheat germ and the groats.

I probably ended up with about 60 balls, and I gave each of my dogs heaping helpings of it, too. If I hadn't given that to the dogs, I probably would have had around 80+ balls or more. I froze all of them and I am planning on feeding one per day to Gremlin as one of his veggies.

I tried one of these myself and they are bland, but the pepper does give it a kick.

Hope your green monsters enjoy it smile.gif

Well, these really are a hit. The first day Gremlin didn't want anything to do with them, but I got him to eat some out of my hand yesterday and then he ate some from the bowl it was in. Today when I brought him the puff he was on the bowl and eating it before I could even get it into the holder. laugh.gif

He's currently pigging out as I type wub.gif
