I've really been missing Max the last few days. It has been 9 months since she passed away in my hands. There are so many things I miss about her. Her cuddling under my chin, purring in my ear, saying 'I love you'. You can all relate, I am sure.

Here are a few photos of my favourite photos of her:

Attached File  Quaker love.jpg   4.85KB   8 downloads

Now, my request....

Would you be willing to post a few of your favourite Quaker photos? Videos are welcome too. :)

We do understand how you're feeling, Carrie~Anne. I've been missing George even more than usual lately too.

Here are a few pictures of Ralph--

I'm sure that most of us have lost pets/best friends/loved ones. :( We feel your pain. Posted Image

Here are a couple pics, and fideos of SMOOCHES. The audio in the fideos is a bit harsh, turn down your volume. ;)

Here is a picture of George. We'd just returned from visiting a friend, and he didn't want to leave his travel cage 'cause he thought he might get another car ride. :)

Actually, George never completely gave up sunflower seeds and was never fond of pellets, but fortunately he never had any health problems (sunflower seeds were the standard food for parrots back in 1969  and pellets were really just being introduced as an alternative). He loved vegetables and fruits as well as rice and pasta, and they made up a big part of his diet. George was a wild-caught parrot and had two or three previous homes. He was already close to 30 years old when he joined my family-- making him nearly 70 at the time he passed away.

Yes, George was a Yellow-crowned Amazon. Ralph is my first Quaker.
Your grandmother sounds like mine. She lived to be 100, and never counted calories or worried about cholesterol or saturated fats. :D

Thank you, Carrie~Anne. George was a good-looking Amazon. I think he did have a good life-- of course, he was spoiled, just like Ralph is now. :) I guess he's been on my mind so much because it was at about this time of year that he first came home back in 1969.
