First time poster here but I'm going to get straight to the point...My Cockatiel Maize flew into the wall :-/ He chipped his bottom beak but was still able to eat fine and was acting fine. I would have taken him to get but the closest vet is 2 1/2 hrs away. A fellow bird lover refered me to this site. His top part of the beak sits a little cockeyed now. Since than his bottom beak has started to look funny. Than I noticed the black bur. should I be worried if he's still eating fine and happy? Check the links to check out his beak. Please help....

I'm sorry that happened. I can't tell from the photos exactly how far the beak is broken. If it's broken down into the flesh I would be worried about infection. Aside from the beak itself, he must have hit the wall very hard to get a break like that. It's possible he has injuries you can't see. My advice is to get him to an avian vet as soon as you can. In the meantime I would keep him warm and watch him closely. It's good that he's still eating. Hopefully someone on the forum with knowledge of similar accidents can help you more. I hope Maize recovers quickly.
