The menagerie numbers one fewer tonight. Humphrey, my hamster, has gone to his reward. He turned 2 in September, and I'd noticed in the last few weeks that he wasn't running on his wheel much and in the last week or so, hadn't been eating as much. I went to feed him tonight -- he usually became active around our bedtime -- and his food from last night hadn't been touched. I lifted up his igloo and he was dead. I know hamsters don't live a long time, and he wasn't a bit cuddly, hated being petted and usually wouldn't let me touch him at all, but I loved him anyway. At least it looked like he went peacefully.

Awww, I am so sorry you lost Humphrey, I hope he is playing with my little Houdini who passed away a few years ago, he was a shaggy white hammy and lived to a good old age.
Gosh how we miss our fids. I am sure he knows how well loved he was:) Hugs to you.

My mouse died some months ago and now Humphrey, so we don't have any rodent family members left. I don't intend to get any more, but I didn't really intend to get either of them, so who knows.
