I am getting my quaker sometime next week. His/her name is sam. I go and vist Sam at the store I am going to buy him at. He is on hold so I get the quaker I want and I am so excited.

I have a question.......
Is it normal for it to haed bob?

When I hold the Quaker, he starts to head bob. I can't bring him home now because they are weening him. Is it normal for a bird to head bob when weening. I am guessing it is. I also want to know Will it stop?

I would really want to Know.

Thanks, Quakerperson

The head bobbing is part of the feeding response. All that bobbing and shaking is where they got the name quaker. It's perfectly normal and he will grow out of most of it. Don't be surprised if you see it from time to time when he's a few months old; especially when he wants some cuddling or something.

BTW, congratulations on your new baby. It'll be a looooong week but it's worth it. biggrin.gif

You're perfectly welcome. We're all a bit paranoid when we see them doing something we don't understand. It's a good sign of a loving, caring parront. smile.gif

As QPDad said, quaking is a very normal response. Quaking is actually a scientific term for the behavior of begging. Mine still does it when she really wants something, and she's 4!

Yep, that's all part of it. You're getting a perfectly normal, happy little baby. smile.gif
