the easiest thing for you to do is let him see YOU eating it but don't let him near for awhile... act like what you're eating is the best thing ever. he'll want whatever you're eating!

welcome to the flock! there is a ton of knowledge available here, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions you have. you can also search specific terms to see if the topic has been covered before.

be prepared to waste food - maybe try smaller servings of new stuff so you don't waste so much. it could take a number of times offering it up before your bird will decide it is ok to eat, and won't eat him lol. but what kris said is true too. if you eat it and make it sound and look really yummy, he will probably get interested. but also remember to not stand too close because you will get food flung on you. smile.gif

some things louie likes are corn and peas, pasta (some shapes more than others) and oatmeal. still working on other stuff, like carrots, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.

Welcome to the forum!!!

First off, what kind of sweet food are you feeding? In fact, can you share what your parrot's diet is right now?
