Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here, and new to owning a Quaker also. I just brought him (? don't know yet) home yesterday. I've named him Akiko Midori.
I also have two chocolate labs and my wonderful husband of over 22 years.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning a LOT at the same time. I've got a ton of questions, but I figure I'll read through the board first to see if some of my questions can be answered that way.
Also, are there directions somewhere on how to post pictures?
Kim

Welcome! Quakers are lots of fun! I like your Quaker's name, very unique. Does it have a special meaning?
Actually, yes his name does have a meaning. My husband and I spent 6 years living in Japan, and he happens to be there right now (active duty military) and will not return till March of 09. So, I've been brushing up on my Japanese again and decided I wanted a Japanese name.
Akiko actually has two meanings: "Autumn Child" and "Bright Child"
Midori is "Green"
So, that's how I settled on Akiko Midori. (I translate it to Bright Green Child)...

Yes, I do have some pictures, but I'm having the darnedst time getting them to load. I belong to a dog forum and have all my pictures hosted at Shutterfly, and I've never had so much trouble posting pictures!!!
I'm going to try to figure out the glitch when I get home from work this afternoon.
Thanks again all for the warm welcome!
Kim
