I have never heard of an orange cheek conure, I went to google and it only talks about green cheeks and orange front(also known as half moon) conures. Are you sure that's what it is?

I hadn't heard of them either so I googled it like Von, I came up with this site... they seem very rare and are a subspecies of the Brown Throated Conure, I've never seen one for sale or heard of them anywhere, I'm not even sure you could find a breeder? Not sure...

I too was wondering if you meant green cheek or orange fronted? unsure.gif

There are two Genus of Conures...the Aratinga and the Pyrrhura Conures. In those Genus you have various species of birds. Generally, the Aratingas (think Sun Conures, Jendays, etc.) are much louder then the Pyrruhas (Green Cheeks, Pearly etc.) are. I find most Conures have a loud, high pitched squawk which some people find very loud and hard to deal with (this is noted more with the Aratinga Conures).

Sure they can all bite and yes they can bite hard, but it depends on the individual bird and how socialized it is.

Did you come across a picture of the bird? Or is someone trying to sell one?
