Hello, my name's Steve and I was wondering if anyone could help explain some weird behavior from my quaker. While sitting on the couch scratching his head, he got all fluffed up and put his chest down on the armrest. Then started bobbing up and down making little clicky noises with his tail in the air and his mouth open. At first I thought he was chocking on something, but then he went back to normal and bit me for not petting him. The weirdness was repeated a few minutes later, then back to normal again. Is there anything wrong, or did the little squawker just decide to be weird?

Welcome to the forum! smile.gif

Sounds like your Quaker is a little hormonal. blush.gif
Try to avoid petting him on the back, which stimulates this behaviour. wink.gif Try to discourage him from doing it with you as it can lead to behaviour problems in the future. Casey's been quite hormonal lately too and has been pretty busy with her boing. blush.gif

Sometimes mine will bob up and down like when she was younger asking for food, lol. She also will fluff herself up from time to time for a few seconds. I have seen her do very strange things, I would say it is the personality, but I am not a vet.

Yeah, when they're very young, they'll sometimes act very much like they do when the get older and hormonal. Willie did that when he was four or five weeks old and someone suggested it was a type of feeding response.
