Where I live we get a lot of frogs, they turn up in the bathroom and at the front door light. Anyway, we have had a tiny cute little green tree frog sitting just below the mirror of my bathroom. I didn't want to disturb it so I just let it be. However it turned up at least two weeks ago, maybe more, and hasn't moved since. At one point I was worried it was dead so wet my hands up and touched it, it took a bit of coaxing to get it to move an inch. It then went back to not moving. I am quite worried that it is sick, I wet my hands again tonight and tried feeding it a mosquitoe but it was not interested so I put in a bowl of water outside just below a light in the hope that it would catch something to eat. Here is a pic of before after sitting in water for a few minutes before it crawled out

So my question is, is there anything I can do to help it?It looked very skinny and dehydrated and I would appreciate any advice
Kyla

We used to have a lot of those before I moved up north.

They drink the dew off the plants they live on. As with most frogs, they detect their food by movement. You could try sticking a fly or mosquito on the end of a piece of thread and let it "fly in and light" in front of it, moving it just a little while it's "sitting there".

yeah I tried the movement thing but I think its too small to eat anything off a string. I checked on it this morning and it seems less dehydrated and greener, I'll just leave it in the water bowl I put in

Yup, I'd take it outside and put it someplace where there's some bushes and grass and let it be. Let nature take its course.

I did put it outside last night but it didn't move once and I was worried that it would die if I didn't help it. So hopefully it will take care of itself now, it does have a bowl of water to sit in if it wants so thats the best I can do I suppose.

Here's something you might find interesting and/or helpful. It talks about keeping them as pets and how to care for them. http://allaboutfrogs...es/grntree.html
