What is the healthy range that a quake can take? huh.gif It is getting hot quick and my house does not have Air Conditioning. It gets hot and this is sams first summer and I do not want him to bake. Thanks.

If you have fans and good ventilation you should be good. I bet it gets a bit warmer in parts of South America than it does in Michigan.

We can get quite hot in my area. Last year we hit 40C several times. I just made sure to keep some fans going and if it was going to be a really hot day, I'd soak the birds down in the morning before I left the house and I'd leave them a dish of water to bathe in.

ok I do have a fan but I do not know how cold it gets in my room. I do not want to wake up with a birdy popcicle

Is it comfortable for you? If you're burning up, so is your bird. If you're chilly, your bird is probably cold.

Second, observe your bird. Is he sitting there with beak wide open fluttering his gular (throat) area? Are his wings held up and/or away from the body? Is he in his normal perch or is he hanging out away from any type of cover or metal cage parts?

We once had two fantastic young men from Medellin that broke horses for us and they said it never got below 60 and never above 80 there. Ideal for birds. Is it the same where you are? Oh how I wsh it was that way here.
