BUT i gotta deal with him for about another year untill the home warenty is up so let me jsut smile and grit my teeth when he comes round, june 13 2009 beware i may end up in jail for assult!!!!
the finishing work (paint and dry wall) SUCK beyond comprehension , my carpet has yet to be tacked down , (just rolled out on the floor gettin damaged is all) my ceelinghas unfinished drywall parts, and my garage door has yet to be hooked up so we have to bend down ans grasp and graon to open it (fun times YAY)that is the short of he list ans the most annoying bits LOL , but ive also got pint in all my tubs, RUST in one from the nails and staples he lef t piled in it, none of the house was cleaned befoer we got it andit was to the point where we had NO choice it was move in NOW or wait one more month due to codys work.... Welcome back girl! Sounds like you're going to have your hands full for a year. But I'd keep after this contractor until its EXACTLY the way you guys want it. Don't let him get away with "Oh its good enough" just so you don't have to deal with him. That happens a lot and then you regret it later.
Yes, I'd think that the fact that it sits on top of a pet cemetary should have been in the paperwork somewhere.
So when you're out digging in the dirt and come up with bones etc you at least know.
Do you have municipal water or is it a private well? If its a well, you might want to have the water tested periodically for contaminants from the cememtary.
But anyway, we're glad you're moved in and back on line.

Yucka! Make sure you stay on top of that guy cuz they tend to disappear once you're in your house. I'm surprised the inspectors let you move in with so much left undone ??!!
Did you get a final occupancy?
I work with contractors everyday and they can be arrogant and invisible .... Be assertive!
On a happier note ... Congratulations for your new home!! And in the country no less ....
I would love to be in the country... Enjoy it all the more for me, k?!

Missed you Nikki, glad to see you back!! Aw hun so sorry you are having so many problems, unfortunely that happens more frequently than it should. Don't back down from them and be insistent. My husband has his own construction company and most of his business is going in and finishing up what should have been done in the first place. A lot of his jobs are correcting the mess they leave behind. If they give you too much trouble, go to your local tv station they usually have those consumer reporters that investigate and help people. Also let them know if things are not done correctly he will be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Good luck! Glad to have you back!
Big hugs!

Wow, you live on a pet cemetary..heh, just like living in a Steven King book!!
Just kidding.
In Canada, there is this great show called Holmes on Holmeswhere he 'fixes' things that bad contractors did. Do you get it in the US?

welcome back! glad to hear you guys finally got to move in. that's one less huge thing to deal with at least. do you know any home builders who could come out and just nose around for things you might not think to look for as far as stuff that still needs to be done?
eh, anyway, welcome back!
