We brought Flip home yesterday and he is as cute as can be.
I was keeping him next to the computer where I work several times a day and playing medatative music for him. Can't hurt. I like it when I'm stressed.
He is eating like a little horse! AND, (AAARRRGGGHHH!) I got a "poop shooter"! He has pooped in the cage some but since this morning he is shooting it up to six inches outside the cage and I have to keep wiping the table around him. How did I get so lucky? rolleyes.gif
I can't wait to catch him doing it 'cause the cage bars aren't dirty! I suppose that's the silver lining in the situation. rolleyes.gif But, is there a cure for this?
Regardless, he is my boy now.
I've moved the cage a little further from the computer. laugh.gif

Hey, we all have our special talents and in church this morning the pastor said whatever your talent is, use it with joy. So apparently Flip's is shooting poo. laugh.gif So rejoice in it!

No pictures yet. It;s only day 2 now. Just letting him settle in. He doesn't step up yet either. So for now it is just talking to him and an occasional petting on the head. He is just starting to play with the toys. So scared I will do something wrong and mess him up! huh.gif

Flip what a cute name!

How old is he?

I just bought our new girl home on Sat. and she is barley talking to us and hardly eats anything. She doesn't seem scared and seems to enjoy socializing with us, but she hasn't played with the toys. She was hatched on 4/14/08 so she is 11 wks old.

Congratulations on your new bird! What did you name her?
Flip was hatched April 23. He's just over 2months old. Hasn't said a word but is eating up a storm! Just touching his toys a little. Doing a lot of contemplating. biggrin.gif
My husband named him. Flip, the bird. Hey. At least he showed some interest! He is desperately hoping Flip will like him better than Toby, our recent rescue. Toby loves hubby so long as hubby has good food. Food's gone? Toby draws blood! Hubby has yet to figure that out. tongue.gif

biggrin.gif We have a poop shooter too. Those guys have some range! I just thought ours was able to do it because he is still being hand fed.

Thanks! I went with Carly, because she seemed to respond to that name! She seems to like to be on your shoulder, not great at stepping up yet, doesn't seem to want to explore her cage very much, I don't think she has touched her toys either. I noticed she has been eating some but not as much as I think she should be. She seems to stay fluffed up a lot when she is in her cage. My house is around 73-75 deg so I wouldn't think she is cold. The breeder I got her from had her inside their home (she smelt like cig. smoke) so I think she is used to the AC. I am hoping she will become more vocal the older she gets. I left the TV on for her this morning when I left for work. Oh and her hatch date was 4/14 so she is also 2 mon. old
