Hey, Gail!
I'm planning to attend this bird fair and hope to find a new member of the family while I'm there -- my husband does not yet realize that's my purpose

. You've been to these Central Illinois fairs before, and I haven't. I'm leaning toward a cockatiel or conure, though parrotlets are awfully cute, too (I hear they're even moodier than Quakers, though). Do you have an idea about how much any of those will cost at this bird fair?
You can usually get a decent price at the fair, but just depends on the vendor. I have cut ties with the club, and am not involved with the fairs anymore, so not sure about exactly what is even available.
I can bet you will find quakers and conures around $200, and cockatiels from $25 - $75, depending on age, handfed babies or breeders, etc. Never bought parrotlets before, but pretty sure some will be there.
It will still be lots of fun to attend, and loads of beautiful birds to see. Also, great deals on cages and supplies. I always load up on toys that are hard to find locally!
