Hello, Rory here. We have a Quaker called George and a pair of Peach-faces called Rosie and Jim-Jim. Hope to exchange lots of stories and info on here. George is our little baby though, we've only had him since last summer but he already does lots of tricks and has plenty of words. His favourite activity is shouting his head off at us when we are watching our favourite tv shows, he is otherwise very well behaved really. The picture of the grey cage is George's new palace which I bought last week... he has settled in very well!

Not to forget the lovebirds rolleyes.gif ...

Thanks Siobhan! Yeah I thought it was time to invest in a bigger cage for him as I noticed his tailfeathers were getting a bit frayed so he probably needed a bit more space. He's out of the cage whenever we are home anyway. I drove to Northern Ireland to buy it as everything up there (United Kingdom) is generally half the price that it would be in the Republic, especially given the current exchange rate of Pound against Euro. I got that cage (£120) that would suit an Amazon or African Grey for the same price as a decent budgie or cockateil cage would cost in the Republic.

If my reckoning is correct -- and I wouldn't bet on it! laugh.gif -- that's a darned good price for a cage like that. Whereabouts in Ireland are you?

In the countryside about 40mins from Dublin city centre. £120 is about $176 (God I love XE.com!).

ta casey's mom!
Yeah my girlfriend tell's me she loves tiffins too.
George is learning pharses on the hour... it's bedtime for him now which is when he speaks the most... just a minute ago he shouted at me "Come on, come on. Step up. Good Boy."... for the first time ever! That was pretty funny.

Hello Rory,
Welcome to the forum.
Your critter family sure is cute.

We are looking at going to Ireland for a holiday towards the end of 2009 or early 2010.
Maybe we could pop in and say "Hi" and meet George.

Tricia
