I'm home with the mother of all colds today, and bored out of my mind...so I've been spending some extra time with the fids. For a few weeks now I've actually been able to have Simon and Pogo in the same room at the same time without any huge problems, but usually hubby is in there as well so if there is any problem we can each take a bird and give them individual attention. Well today I brought both of them into the bedroom together by myself, and Simon (from sitting on my shoulder) looked at him and said "Hello Pogo!" It was so funny cuz he kept saying "hello" to him over and over. He also will inch down my shoulder and check Pogo out, but if Pogo gets too close, he will start doing his aggressive head bobbing toward him trying to grab beaks. Of course, Pogo, being the crazy caique that he is, doesn't get what this means at all, and I have to restrain him from flapping up and landing on Simon. It's so cute to see a bird saying "hello" over and over to another one...hehehe. I so wish that they were able to play together because I actually think Simon would allow it if Pogo wasn't such a nut, but I know that's not gonna happen.
