Is this affectionate regurgitation or something else? I'm not really worried, just curious. He does this fairly often.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Well I am not positive about this but I really think he is just yawning. He doesn't seem to be regurgitating. I have one that yawns exactly like that. Don't worry he is being perfectly normal.

No that is the beginnings of regurgitating

How old is he/she if you watch him he moves his beak like he's eating something small again he just isn't managing to bring much up...

Don't incourage him but don't scold him either...

He's 8 months old, that's why I thought it might be something else. He also bobs his tail, which looked sexual to me as well. Isn't he too young for all this? I'm not ready for an adolescent tongue.gif

oh yeah he is definitely getting ready to regurgitate.. Kiwi has did it once for my hubby.. awwhh what love he has for us.. lol and he was about 6 months old.

quakers usually reach sexual maturity around 1-2 years i'm fairly sure so it's a little early but as i said.. our kiwi showed his love to my hubby when he was even younger then yours so it is possible... I wouldn't worry.. follow Connie's advice and just don't have any dramatics .. maybe if he's on you and tries just get a toy to play with or put him down for a bit until he forgets he was feeling lovvey

louie does that a lot. he does it during our showers when he's on the shower rod, right before/after a smooch, and when i make a certain clicky noise to him. he'll mimic the clicky noise then regurg a little. he yubs me wub.gif thankfully he's never brought anything up.

Santana does the same thing when I sing to him or tell him "I love you". From the reading I've done I had a feeling that's what it was so I usually stop when he starts it.

My birds do this, especially Tia and she never regurgitates. Bird Talk magazine says that they may just be adjusting their crop when they do that or just stretching their jaw muscles etc. so that may be all it is wink.gif
