WOW!! I just read on google news about the fires in Australia and the overwelming heat. I knew it was a hot year for ya'll but holy cow....I did the conversion from celcius to fehrenheit, and it was 114 degrees f. there yesterday!!! I cannot even imagine that sort of heat and I live in Texas. Just wanted to say that I hope you are all safe and out of harms way with the horrible fires. I know here, it's so humid in the summer that when it get up around 100 it's hard to even breathe outside. 114 I cannot even imagine.

Oh yes! Thanks for thinking of us
There was a new record of over 46 celcuis in Melbourne yesterday! Sadly there are lots of bushfires around in Victoria..there was one not too far from our surburan home yesterday.
The cool change has came today and even a bit of rain (hooray!), we're so lucky here having breaks in between not like how it is in the country all over Victoria where it is always very hot

It's been soaring heat over here and it's still amazingly hot in Sydney but nothing compared to what I've heard in Victoria. Those bushfires are heartbreaking to read about.
Yes they really are. I can't imagine anything much scarier than that.

Below is an answered pm I received from donut/Trish...I wanted to share with everyone that she and family and fids are safe.....
Hi Julie,
Thanx heaps for your concern.
I am safe.
My family are all safe, we had a few close call, but all is OK at the moment.
If the wind stays as it is and the weather stays cool, things should stay under control.
I live in surburbia, so my house was never at risk.
I am one of the lucky ones who was not touched directly by the fires.
We nearly lost 2 family members homes.
They did all they could, gathered up all the important things they could grab and left.
They decided that as they were insured, they would take the kids & pets and go.
Nature would decide their outcome.
The devestation is horrific, every news report adds to the death toll, thay are still searching the outer areas for people who are missing.
The fires came so quickly to some areas that they could not send out warnings.
Everyone was on high alert but not told to evacuate.
The wind blew the fires onto them in seconds.
Thanx again for your concern.
It really means a lot to me.
I have not been online for a while as the computer had died and can only access it at work on occasions.
They keep telling me that its fixed and then they find something else wrong.
I think they are playing mind games with me.
LOL
A few minor issues with family but all is good.
hope to be back sooner than later.
Tricia.

Thanks for letting us know about Donut, Julie. I have a freind in Melbourne Aus and just got an email from her as well. All is well with her, but the fires and heat are horrific. Over 130 dead, over 100 missing, 750 homes gone, just hard to imagine. And now they are speculating that the original fires were deliberately set?!!
Talk about mass murder!!! I hope they find whoever did this. Oh what a heartless, unthinking, uncaring thing to do.
Try to stay safe Aussie friends! We'd send you some snow and colder weather if we could!

178 Deaths this morning and still more expected ..This is one of our worst disasters, one of the news men said driving through a town they came upone a horse with its head in a drinking trough and it was dead where is stood the fire went through so fast no one or nothing had a chance .. After the loss of people the animals upset me the most I hate looking at footage with the poor helpless critters all burned ....
Its so so sad...

I saw the reports on the world news tonight. I can't believe people are setting fires....I mean, what is wrong with some people???? Glad to hear that Trisha and Wayne and fids are safe. Majj, that is so awful, what you said about the horse being burned where it stood. I don't even think I can imagine such a fierce fire traveling so fast. Like Jobo said...stay safe down under.
