So Mojo is doing this weird tongue movement like she has something stuck at the roof of her beak. When she started that's what I thought it was so I checked and her beak is clean. Any idea of what she could be doing?


She's also going throught her first molt and the feathers she's growing in seem to be different colors. The newest color she's getting is a tent of orange her back feathers

Clyde does that sometimes and then scratches his ear. I always think it looks like they're a bit stuffed up and trying to make their ear pop, like when we yawn to make our ears pop. Or maybe she's trying to regurgitate for you. Clyde does that, too, but never actually produces anything. He's just making the gesture, I guess. In other words, I don't know.

I dont see any orange in the feathers but maybe its the lighting in the pictures. But I have read that it could be a lack of something in the diet and lack of sun light. As far as the tongue thing..its kinda cute, but I dont think my 2 ever do that. Maybe there is something stuck...or he may have scratched it and it feels funny?!

Paulie always seems to pick at his beak, the inside..like picking his "teeth" lol also he does this things that looks like he is choking up something, I don't see anything come up, or stuck in his beak or anything, I was thinking that he was trying to regurgitate.

zuzu always does this weird tongue stuff too. he like flicks it out and about - not easily explained, but maybe i can get some video of it this weekend. sometimes when i lean in for kisses, he comes at me with his tongue just goin to town, and sometimes licks me.

maybe it's just something your bird does?

Looks happy but he also looks like he just discovered his tongue and is having fun! They are so like little kids!!
