Just wanted to say hello! I have recently been blessed with the purchase of a darling Quaker (Polly) and an Eclectus (Tika). Here are pics of my beautiful babies!

Welcome Brigette & gang. Your birds are very beautiful. Your eclectus girl is stunning. How do your birds get along? I will be getting a quaker baby at the end of this month & I have a 8 month old eclectus boy. I am crossing my finger than can at least stand eachother rolleyes.gif

Thanks, for the comment! I haven't even tried them together and have their cages about 15' apart from eachother. I don't allow the Eclectus on the Quakers cage and vice versa. I've read some horror stories about Eclectus attacking Quakers. I even know someone who had a Quaker, the Eclectus got onto the Quakers cage and opened the cage and attacked him and almost ripped his beak off! Simply because of the size difference, I'm not taking a chance. Maybe someone else on here can elaborate more on this subject because I don't know if they're compatible or not. Hope this helps!

Females ekkies can be very moody so you are doing the best thing by keeping them apart.
With a male it might be different but I still wouldn't risk it.

Agreed. That's what I have heard. I don't want to take any chances! I have a hard enough time with the 6 cats, but after I "introduced" the birds to them, they lost interest. The Eclectus does "talk" to the birds though when they lie by her cage! LOL!
