Have all these pairs been in the same room always? Sometimes one species will be too noisey for another species and that will upset them enough to keep them from wanting to do anything.
Do you have them with an artificial source of light that is on for at least 14 hours a day?
Have they finished their spring moult? Sometimes they won't start until after they've finished the spring moult.

Have you tried to dim the lights and put some soft romantic music on with candles and rose petals and some good home made dinner to wine and dine them
lol . Seriously i don't know anything about breeding birds but what i do know with my mom's birds she had they mated when only in one room where the sun shined and it was warm but all year round they mated. Don't forget the weather is a bit messed up lately we finally getting chilly and it should of been a month ago so maybe soon they will start.

i was just watching them..my quakers were seriously mating for 20 minutes straight. Although they are proven i haven't actually watched them before. I am noticing the male is only half on top and half to the side. Is this normal. I have been watching you tube and most of the videos show the male right on top. I feel so dirty right now lol

no, thier both 6 years old..well i guess thats young but still. maybe i am being silly. I went back up to watch for a bit and it seems they are both now taking an interest in the nest. I have lots of branches and twigs plus timothy hay, but i went and got some care fresh bedding to see what they will do with that as well.
My birds are pretty much my life and my kids have grown. I have agoraphobia and chronic depression. I am my happiest when i am just watching them and how they act with each other.
Maybe I am just rushing faster than them:) maybe I shoul dtry and get a life

So let me get this straight you at your happiest watching them get it on hehe (sorry dry humour)lol. Maybe put the pc infront of them and let them watch youtube for some tips. . . .
. Quakers like building thier own nests don't fill the next box to much and let them build it . I'm guessing. And give them some peace while they doing the mamba lol.

no,no, I am not one of those. I have been off work for a year so I have been paying more attention to what they are doing. But funny thing. i went and got some carefresh yesterday and and soon as i put some in there they went nuts fixing the nest box. This morning I went in and low and behold I have 3 pairs in the boxes and just one that is still not interested. Maybe it's a good sign and they just wanted more comfortable bedding. I know I sound crazy..thats because I am , according to the doctors anyway
