Here is a picture of my new baby that came home today..apx 10 wks old. He does something that I never seen another bird do before. When I picked him up he turned his head side to side really fast..kinda like shaking it and make a chirp type noise. What is that...???

He's probably just a bit frightened of the huge new world around him. So many new things to get used to all at once. Give him some quiet time to look around and snuggle when you have him out of the cage. Talk softly to him, no sharp noises or quick moves and give him time to trust you.
He's adorable, but does look a little bit scared.

It might be a good idea when you put him to bed to cover the back half of his cage and leave the front where he can see what is going on if he hear a strange noise. You might put on a night light too in case he has night frights.

I'm sure you knaow all that, just going through some reminders.

Best wishes with your darling new baby. He's precious. wub.gif

Congratulations! He is a cutie......the turning of the head from side to side could be quaking......do like Weeza said and let him get use to his surroundings for the first few days......

He is so cute , sounds like quaking to me too ..Is he eating well ..?? if not you could offer him a spoon of warm porridge or mashed sweet potato ...He is only a baby and he will probably beg to be fed ..make sure he is eating his dry food ..

Good luck ..and Congratulations..

Quaking is perfectly normal for Quakers to do when they're babies. It's how they got their name after all! biggrin.gif
