I have had this quaker for about 2 years. I had no intention of ever getting a parrot but this one was about to be my cats dinner so I rescued him. He had been living in the pine tree beside my house for about 2 weeks when he finally tired out from lack of food, water, and all the sap from the pine tree coating his feathers. I have no idea where he came from but I asked all the people I have known to own birds and no one clamed him. He lived in a very small cage for about 2 weeks when I decided to keep him and bought his cage. I have a modest amount of money invested in the cage so it will no be going with him. However, for the right price it is possible. I will only let this parrot leave my possession if I feel the person wanting him is going to take the best of care of him and is not going to try and make a few bucks by selling him. I could do that myself if I wanted but I want him to have a good home where someone can give him the proper care.
I have no idea how old he is or the sex. He does not talk but he is very chatty and I believe that with a bit of work he would be able to pickup a few smaller words in no time. He has this problem of lunging and trying to bite when I am cleaning his cage but loves to get food from my hand. At one point when I had more time to dedicate to him he was flying to me and landing on my hand and allowing me to feed him. He has no known health problems and has all his feathers. He (or she) would make a lovely pet for the right person.
As I stated before, the parrot will not be given to just anyone. I prefer a avian vet reference if possible and any other form of good standing you would be willing to provide.
Thanks,
Steve
