I am trying to find a suitable pellet for my little Quaker. We can't get Roudybush here in New Zealand and all I've found in stores so far was Kaytee pellets which are way too artificial just by looking at them let alone reading the ingredients. So I take care of what I eat and it's a definite no to those for my Kooky. We do have two other brands that I could possibly order and I am wondering if anyone has heard of Vitakraft or Vetafarm and how good they are? It's hard to get any information without actually looking at the package but I have not seen them on shelves in any of the stores (and I even work in one tongue.gif ).
Any advice would be much appreciated and if there is anyone from New Zealand here did you find any other brands here?

Thanks a lot! smile.gif

I'm from AU and I've been using Vetafarm South American mix as well. The very firest time my feather butts snubbed them but they now love them. My quaker will grab one and carry it to the top of his cage to eat.

Hi bubljen

It's funny you should ask about Vetafarm and mention Roudybush today. I have just been messaging on Trade Me with someone who is thinking of importing both those brands and she says that Roudybush looks like it will be great value price wise. Nothing is certain yet, but it is looking promising.

Here is the link - if you go back a page we were chatting about the Vetafarm pellets prior to her mentioning Roudybush.

Join in the message thread - they are a great bunch. And there is another great thread on TM called 'Feathered Friends' for pet bird owners (although half of us breed them too) smile.gif

i use Vetafarm Breeder and South American mix and also Economix dependin on the season. Iv never had a problem and since moving some newbies off of seed and onto the economix pellit from vetafarm iv noticed a brighter, shinier, more active and generally more happy change in them! so yeah vetafarm is probably up there with the best of them if you ask me.
