I just made my flock banana nut muffins with strawberries added, plus blue, black, and raspberries. They love the berries.

There's been some controversies about strawberries in the past. Strawberries grown commercially are many times sprayed with chemicals either as fertilizer or as bug repellent so make sure that you wash them well, before giving them to your birds.

When I have home grown berries, my guys LOVE them.

Mine all flatly refused to even try strawberries, and I've only recently convinced them to try tomatoes. Red is not a favorite color of my birds. I thought at first that they finally agreed to try tomatoes because we grew them and offered them right off the vine, but we had strawberries, too, and they still wouldn't touch them.

Mine wont touch any fruit as of yet. I have tried strawberries, blueberries, mango, cantaloupe, and raspberries from our garden. The only thing they seemed remotely interested in is throwing the cherries around the cage. The tomatoes are not ripe yet in our garden, but I will offer some soon. We have gooseberries out there that my dogs like...are they safe for QPs?

Casey loves strawberries! But when she eats them she basically murders the strawberry by picking off the seeds on the outside blink.gif laugh.gif
