It depends on the price and what you want to do with it. It seems like an older model with those specs but if you want to just goof around on the internet etc it should be fine.

If it runs Vista, 1 gig of RAM is not enough. 2 gigs would be better. Otherwise it'll slow things down. I myself would get a laptop with 2 gigs of RAM memory at the least...

Since you love to play games, I would go with at lest 1 to 2 Gigs of Ram and a hard drive bigger than 30 maybe 80 at lest. Good luck on finding what you want.

You might want to start looking at sites of computer makers to get a idea of what is out there and how much they cost. Also look at Best Buy

When I looked at your computer at HP, it listed 1, 2, 3 and even 4 gigs of memory, depending what you want. So the store should be selling the different versions of the same model. Yeh for gaming, def at least 2 gigs, depends on the games, if you a serious gamer like the Sims, etc..., 3 is even better.

When i googled it i got many different versions too it confused me. I'm just going to get it cos i had someone look at it just for doing internet stuff its good. For the price its good i'm not getting it from the shop i'm getting it from someone who really needs money and it will help her and my god child out plus she has never used it. Now i just need to save for a better desk top later in life. Whats a good anti virus to use ?

Norton Symantec is a good one.

AVG is a free one online that worked pretty well. It has a year free and then you need to 'buy' but for the year, I was well protected and gave me enough time to save up the $50 to buy the Norton AV program.

I prefer AVG over McAfee and Norton.

You can use the free program or you can upgrade to the pay program. Both are excellent. IMO Norton uses up too much memory and you can't get rid of it if you want it gone.

Also the brand that Best Buy sells is very good and way cheaper than the other name brands.

You can find AVG at www.grisoft.com
