Kiko's second day here... I'm babysitting today and working at the computer. We're practising independant play with the kids in the living room, Clifford on the TV, and Kiko in her cage. First we get a round of quaker calling... then a round of "peek-a-boo" and "step up, good bird". And then car alarm noise starts.... *blinks* She's got it cold, too. That beautiful, ear splitting wooooop!woooop!woooop!WEEE WEEE WEEE WEEE WEEE. Meanwhile she's pausing to preen and look proud of herself.
OMG.

hahaha... that's AWESOME!! thankfully my 2 newest quakers didn't come with any horrible habits or sound effects but i can certainly feel your pain...
while my birds don't really do any sound effects, Cricket will go thru all his words over and over again and Gator will sing 1 line from a song for 2 hours straight.
not as ear splitting as a car alarm but just as "amusing"!

I'l send you a tape for Napoleon. I'm sure we can get him going in no time!
I'm thinking once Kiko figures out target and clicker training I'm going to have to get this one on a hand signal... could you imagine?!?
"Oh no, Kiko! Someone's trying to steal the baby!"
..... woooop!wooooop!woooooop! WEEE WEEEEE WEEE!

ROTFL!
Glad to hear you are target/clicker/trick training! It makes a world of difference, I feel- for rescues. Not to mention, fun for all!
Just for kicks, I teach/encourage them to bark like the dogs at whoever they see coming up the driveway. Sounds like a kennel, not an aviary!
hahaha

Apparently, while your trying to sleep, you get more upset, and yell "Be Quite", a little louder each time.
Amazing, how they pay attention to the slightest things!
"Look, I'm not sleeping, and neither are you! GET UP!!!!!!!!!"
