sleep.gif Anyway I am not wanting pity. I am needing to rehome some of my babies. It has been just one thing after another for the last year and now this. Last Sunday I had to be rushed to the ER because I could not breath. I had a flu shot on Thursday and it seemed to have thrown me into bronchitis and whatever else. I was running 102 fever aching and hurting all over. Then came the not being able to breath part. Which was horrible. They admitted me because they could not keep my oxygen sats above 95. They were runnin in the low 85s to 88s. I was hospitalized for a week. Home now with oxygen. Been diagnosed with asthma. The drs. do not think my birds are the cause but with me having so many I think it would be best to find homes for a few of them. I can't bare to part with my quakers. I do have Melon he is an rescue IRN. Absolutely, a sweetheart and talks nonstop. He is beautiful. He is scared of hands but will happily step up and run to your shoulder and ride around. He loves to give kisses. He will find a toy or a treat and bring it to you in exchange for a kiss. I also have Petey a sun conure. Petey is my baby. He is beautiful and sweet. He doesn't like to be petted but will not get very far away from his human. He is very protected and does not hesitate to run a predator off of his territory. He and Kibbles my quaker babies are extremely bonded but I think he will be ok if he goes to someone that will spend alot of one on one attention with him. He laughs and loves to give loves to you. Petey loves to hang from one toe upside down and swing. I really do need to bring myself to part with at least one quaker but it will be extremely hard to do. Parting with any of these guys are going to be extremely difficult on me but I am only 41 and would like to live a long and productive life. I think I can keep my birds cages cleaner if I less cages to clean. So here I am. I love all of these as my babies. I will ONLY let them go to a good home that I know and trust will give them a forever home and love them like I do. I prefer not to ship. Please send me an email if you are interested and we will talk.

Thanks to you all!

I am so sorry Cathy.. I can imagine that this is killing you.

I do not mean to scare you but did your Dr. consider H1N1? I only ask because shortness of breath is one of the main symptoms.

I wish you all the best and I hope you can find perfect homes.

Oh Man, that truly does suck, but I totally understand where you're coming from. As I just had to do the same for other reasons.

Hope you can find just the right homes for your feathered babies...

And I hope you'll be feeling better real soon.

Hugs.

Yes they did test me for H1N1 and the regular Flu. I was negative for both of them. Thanks though!

I had Child Hood Asthma. The fear that comes from wondering if the next breath will even come, is Horrific!!!!! I imagine, that doesn't even compare, to the choice your making. All our hearts go out to you, and your babies.

I recall one time, maybe 2, or 3 in the morning, another Asthma attack, my mom told me don't cry, it'll be OK. I told her "I'm not crying for me, I'm crying for you. You only get a couple hours of sleep, because of me."

40 Years later, I'm still breathing, and tonight, my tears are for YOU and YOUR BABIES!!!!!

I pray you keep breathing, for many, many years, and you find wonderful homes for you babies!!!!!

I can definitely sympathize having gone through the same thing last year. It is completely heartbreaking to have to rehome your fids due to health issues.

You may also want to post in the Needs New Home Section.

My thoughts are with you, Cathy.

RufflesMomma,
We really don't have the life right now for another bird. Especially since we just got our QP and are learning how to live with him. I so badly wish we were in a situation that we could take at least one of your babies. Although we cannot take one, I would like to offer any other help. I'm not sure what I could do to help you out, but since I think I'm the only person on here in the same city as you, I had to offer. CosmoKramer04 is from around here, and I know he said something about wanting another bird, so maybe try contacting him. Other than that I really have no ideas. Although I do stay pretty busy, I am young and fairly healthy and able bodied, so please let me know if you need anything at all. As far as rehoming your babies, just take it one at a time. I will start looking around and seeing if anyone in the area is looking for sweet bird to give a home to. Once again, please let me know of ANYTHING I can do.

I had the same symptomes in June except it was from the swine flu. I am still on the oxygen but am getting stronger every day. Hopefully they can get the asthma under control and your oxygen levels will go up real soon. You have to do what is right for you. I know you will find loving homes for your babies!

That really sucks. I would love to help you. If I had the room and was allowed another bird. Know that you are in my thoughts.

P.S. I have to agree though I just got over the swine flu and had the same symptoms too.
