The other day while shopping there were pigeons all over the parking lot My mother said will you look there is a bird under my car. OK I have always loved birds, before moving here i lived in Galveston where we had flamingos, pelicans, sea gulls, pigeons, morning doves every kind of bird you can imagine even a flock of quakers every now and then and some ferral budgies. Years ago during a storm a bird dealer lost them from cages in the back yard. Unfortunatly birds are scarce here where i live now. Anyways I started talking to the bird as I would racal my mom started appologizing to the people trying to park lol.It seemed the pigeon enjopyed being called baby and was in no hurry to move, and i was not going to let it get hit. MY mom just says good Lord she's talking to the pigeon

We have pigeons around where I work and I always talk to them and the other birds, too. Some of the little sparrows will land very close to me and turn their little heads this way and that while I talk to them. You haven't lost your mind! Pigeons are very smart and affectionate birds. I used to raise them when I was a kid and they were great fun.

It's funny you mentioned pigeons......okay, pigeons are SUPPOSED to live in downtown areas, right? Well, my parents live far from downtown, but they feed the critters outside (6 squirrels, flocks of sparrows and finches, a flock of blue jays) and about a month ago, a flock of pigeons moved in! They now have 6 pigeons living at their house........I didn't believe my dad when he told me about them, and almost fell over when I looked out the kitchen window and yes, indeed...there were six pigeons in their yard.

Way to Go Tami---talk to that pigeon to save its life, yes, I would have too....I wouldn't have cared either, and if the people thought I was little coo coo, so be it........so no---you didn't lose your mind---you were doing what any bird/animal lover would do......
