Hi, I want to Introduce myself, my name is Monica, but I go by the name Vikinggirl. I have a Quaker Parrot named Kiwi. I was in PetValu today, and was talking to one of your members KC's Mom, and she gave me the name of this website. I'm looking to join your group to learn more about my Quaker, and to share stories, and experiences with other Quaker peeps.

Welcome! :)

Thank you, and thanks so much for the tips today. I clipped Kiwis feathers after I got home, and I used a towel to take him out of the cage. He let me pet him, and touch his head and neck, but did not let me pick him up, and he wouldn't step up on my hand. He did try to nip at me when I did try to pick him up, but not near as hard as he does when he's in his cage, and he didn't ram me with his head like he does either. I put him on the couch, and not in the bathroom as you suggested because I had sprayed the shower with Lysol, and didn't t want the bird in there with the fumes. I thought it would take much longer to get him to be friendly again, and until today, I didn't think I would be able to handle him again. I'm so happy that I made some progress today, and that I met you, and you told me of this site.

Welcome to you and Kiwi! (love his name).  I have a 1 1/2 year old blue Quaker (male) named Skye.  He's quite the character!
