Hi, I got my Quaker parrot Kiwi about a year ago, last year we went to Jamaica on holiday for a week, and when I came back, my once tame and friendly bird wouldn't come out of the cage anymore. He was hand tamed when we bought him, and he was very friendly, learned to talk within the first 3 months of getting him, and he would sit with my 5 year old grandson. Now he is very territorial of his cage, and will ram me with his head, and bites me when I put my hand in the cage to feed him or change his water. I feel bad for my bird that I can't hold him anymore, I do speak to him everyday, and try to let him, but he's vicious. I spoke to Casey's Mom at PetValu, and she gave me some tips to try to get him back to being friendly and being handled. Has at his happened to anyone else?, and does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get Kiwi back?
