We are finally enjoying a nice warm weekend, and I was out all day working on the garden. Casey spent part of the afternoon outside too, watching me plant the flower pots and calling out to the outdoor birds.

Mr P talks to the outside birds too, he asks them what they are doing! Then he squawks at them when they don't answer him back. It's pretty amusing

That looks like a very secure outside cage. Where'd you get that?

Thanks. We got it at Parrotdise Perch a number of years ago. I haven't seen it in the store for years. Unless you can see it on line.

I got one of these travel cages via Amazon:

Well, for some reason I can't paste the link, but you can find it under "Perch and Go Clear View Bird Carrier".  They are quite handy.

Yup, that is it, thanks... though we paid more money for it 7 years ago, it is great though and Casey always like going in it :)

I think we're going to stick with watching the world pass by from our big front windows. Otey could care less about what's going on outside his cage area. Aldo is our "watch parrot" & screeches like a monkey when he sees someone walk by--and we get a lot of walkers in our neighborhood.

Lovey, meanwhile, would probably dash herself to bits trying to get out of that clear cage. She already tries to boss every bird that comes to the outside feeder, and jumps at the window. No, she'll just have to watch all the potting up from inside.

I love it when people take their cages outside. I'm a firm believer in bringing birds outside whenever possible (in a cage, in my case, because i've never had a bird who would wear a harness.) Even my parakeets love going outside.

At our former house, we had a big deck, and we rolled Clyde and Jade's cages out on the deck on nice days occasionally, but neither one could relax for a second. They were terrified of every breeze and noise, so we stopped doing that.

I have an screened in/enclosed porch on the back of my house. I take Mr P and his big playstand out  there almost daily. Sometimes he gets a shower with a plant mister and other times he just enjoys the outside. He asks the wild birds what they are doing and then gets annoyed when they don't answer back. It's pretty comical

I would love a screened in sunroom, sounds like Mr P has fun there, Casey will have to be content with her carrier for now.

Ocho also loves going outside. He has a harness that he is not fond of, so we carry his cage out. He has been working on bird calls and has one down pretty well. Yesterday a bird was calling and he called back, and they seemed to be having a chat. It was fun!
