Hey rice is easy to cook....LOL....I hope you soaked the beans..............
Soak the beans??? You mean the 2 hours after the boiling? Or was I supposed to soak them overnight or something? The link said to mix the bags of dried beans with the rice and boil in 2 cups of water....Don't tell me I was supposed to soak the beans first prior to boiling them. I did rinse them first though.
Usually, I say usually.....you soak the beans for 24 hrs., just cooking them with rice and letting them set for 2 hrs isn't going to cook them enough. You can try to pinch the bigger ones and see what there consistency is like.
Ugh...well the directions didn't say to soak the beans first. I thought when it said "dry beans" it meant dry beans. Can you tell I don't cook beans very often? Will it hurt the fids if the beans aren't cooked completely?

LOL...well, I haven't mixed it all up yet...and beans are cheap. I already mixed the dry beans with the whole grain rice in a ziploc bag. Should I soak the dry beans and rice overnight and try again tomorrow?

Well, normally I wouldn't soak the rice...but considering the rice and beans are already mixed...I am NOT sitting there picking out dry grains of rice out of a mix containing 5 different types of dry beans. I wouldn't think it would hurt the rice to soak it with the beans...do you?

So next question...there are red beans, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, navy beans, and split peas all mixed together. They all soak 24 hours right? And if not...will the ones that aren't supposed to soak that long be ok? Or will they be mush? I guess even if they are mush, they won't hurt the fids..right?
