My boyfriend, in his growing bird obsession, wants to know what the "best" bird cage company/designer is.

I have no idea! From my personal experience, I would go with Island cages... what does everyone else think?

Becky,
I think it depends on the bird. I have two cockatoos and of the cages I have been able to check out personally for them I like the King's cages. My cockatoos are very intelligent and enjoy the challenge of escaping &/or taking the cage apart! They also like to stretch their legs and grab the potty paper to shred. Food doors are not easy for a bird to open on the Kings cages & they have a door lock that so far my birds haven't been able to open from the inside of their cage.

I like what I've read about the new Kaytee EZ Care cage but have not found anyone selling them to actually check it out. Anyone seen the new Kaytee EZ Care cage?

Good luck with your cage search! My best advice is to know your bird and then to make a check list of important things to check out in the cage you are considering. The first cage I bought for my first cockatoo was a bad decision on my part, it was recommended by the store. It wasn't long before my Too had taken it apart and I had to buy another cage! Remember it is an investment rather like our own investment in a house. Be sure it is something you and your bird can live with & in for a lifetime if necessary.

I have a HQ cage that I will be setting up on Friday and can tell you about that then.
