I'll just state it flat out my gang needs new cages. I was going to go with a 20 X 20 that is the same as the one Paulie and Hedwig are in now for them all. Paulie and Hedwig share and Lily has her own. I've been looking around and at the prices I might be be able to afford come Christmas and I think I've decided on Desmond's. Plus its slightly bigger then the one I wanted. So I want your opinions on the cage I'll leave a link to below. Do ya think the cages will hold up to my terrible trio's abuse? And believe me they do abuse their cages. Thanks everybody for your opinions.

This looks like a slightly newer version of one I had a couple of years ago. My Quaker chewed through one of the bars and scraped the powder coat off the others so they had a qhole bunch of rust one them

They are also not as stable as they look

HQ has a sale on some of their cages at the moment and they all have free shippping (good news is looks like they dropped DHL as a shipper).
I have had great reccomendations from numerous people about their cages, although cannot verify myself till I get home tomorrow and set mine up lol

I've found really good deals at some bird fairs. I know you said it might be Christmas before you can get new cages but here is a link to a bird fair that may be close to you to check out cages and prices.

September 16 - Kansas City, MO - Beaks n Wings Bird Club's Fall Expo
KCI Expo Center, 11730 North Ambassador Dr. (913)-722-2632 9am-4:30pm, Admission: $3 over 10 yrs..

There may be others even closer to you and more frequent. When I was checking for a new cage at the bird fairs and I was looking at the King's cages. The vender selling them at the bird fair was selling them at or below wholesale price! That was a good deal! I also like that I could check the cages out personally and not have to rely on pictures or someone's description, etc. Just another option if you need it! Hope you soon find the perfect cage and price for you and your birds! Oh, if this bird fair is too soon but you still want to check out a bird fair look in the back section of Bird Talk magazine for a list of bird fairs.

I'd like the website too. I'm buying at least one new cage by the end of the month. So, I'm really trying to do a lot of research on price, workmanship, etc. I'll be watching for the link.

These cages were reccomended to me by a local rescuer. She uses them mainly for Greys and swears by them. I had a little problem shipping the first cage with DHL, but the second cage is on it's way via fed ex and was much smoother.

FYI though, The 36 by 28 cage I ordered is v heavy. I had it delivered to my dads house as I am away and he has just left it on his porch. He figured in theives can't lift it they can't steal it lol.

Will post tomorrow about how easy it is to assemble etc and any problems I see

EDIT: just wanted to add I bought the 36 by 28 for $329 shipped and a 26 by 20 (for my quaker) for $250 shipped

I really like those and I like the price. PLEASE let us know how difficult it is to put together.

Just to let you know guys I will be setting the cage up tomorrow.

Have to bash my sister over the head and steal her El Camino so I can get it from my Dads to my house smile.gif
