Hi Everyone. My quaker and I are going to be moving soon and I have a small nook in my kitchen where his cage will be. I'd like to paint the nook a different color than the kitchen but I'm afraid of painting it a color that my quaker won't like. I know for a fact that he doesn't like red (it makes him very frustrated and angry). Are there any other colors that I should stay away from?? Thanks!

I read somewhere that quakers like colors such as blue, green, and purple. I painted my bird room a misty purple... they seem to like it just fine.

You probably couldn't go wrong with blue since the sky is that color, usually.

The room my girls are kept in is kind of Thomas Kinkade themed, so the walls are painted blue, with streaks of cream and pink to make it look like sunset. They seem to like it (though I'm not suggessting you get quite so complicated!!)

When i am able to have a bird room...I have always planned on a soft yellow.
Something bright, sunny and cheerful

You might consider a bird poo brown as well ... it will be that color in spots anyways!!

Thanks for your replies!! It sounds like soft colors are the way to go.
Good point jobo2mi! It probably will end up being poo-colored eventually!

In my opinion, it would be wise to sponge it several different colors...
blue, green and a yellow ...that'll hide the bird poop....
Ask Andie, hers are that way...they look nice and it really does hide the boid pooooop! LOL
