I ordered from JMExotics on ebay and I am very pleased with it. It's very sturdy and decently made for the price paid. When I think of the crap at the petstores for the same money, I am quite happy. There were no directions included with the cage, but I have two sons, and have put together a lot of toys that didn't have decent directions, so it wasn't a problem rolleyes.gif

It's not the biggest cage, but I expect Gremlin to be out frequently and I eventually plan on getting a nicer cage, but this was in the budget right now. It's 20x20x25 and the top opens so I can put a perch up there if I want. I am sure that some of the posters here have the same cage.

Right now it looks pretty bare inside, as the majority of my toys have not arrived yet. I do have a sleepy hut, a pedi-perch and a sisal boing in there, but I know it is not interesting enough for my fid at this point. I have a rainbow bridge coming tomorrow, as well as a kabob, a huge munch ball and a parrot Kong. I also have a few other misc. toys on the way and I will be making some of my own, too. I have some maple branches in the garage that I need to clean and disinfect so Gremlin has something to perch on, since it's obvious I don't have anything except the wooden dowels that came with the cage. I will probably remove those entirely and keep them as extras.

So, what do you experienced Quaker slaves think? Is there something vital I am missing that I don't have? unsure.gif

TIA!

Edited to add:
I cleaned and disinfected the maple branches I had and have added them to the cage. The large one is zip-tied to the desk as a way for Gremlin to come on over and visit me blush.gif The smaller branches fit into the oven so I disinfected them that way. The larger ones I washed with dishsoap and then with a very weak bleach solution and then dried them off. Since Gremlin won't be here till Friday they should be plenty dry by then. I am also going to get some of that inexpensive plastic carpet protector stuff and put it under the cage and under the large branch so the poop won't get everywhere on the carpet. Menard's has it for about $1/foot and I shouldn't need that much of it.

Good job Mom. You might have to improvise a little when Gremlin gets home tho, cause you might have to have stuff down low to the bottom until he gets use (if he is a baby) to climbing perches and stuff.. JUST MY OPINION

Billy has that same cage, its been a good cage..I agree with what Sandi said :)Congrats!

Thanks for this advice smile.gif I think he's been climbing all over his current cage, but I am not sure how he will take to this one, so I will keep that in mind. He is a baby, but fully weaned to pellets...9 weeks old today wub.gif I would have gotten him today or tomorrow but his breeder is out of town and her husband isn't comfortable with sending birds him with new owners. She'll be back late tomorrow.
