Oatis'Mom
Okay the cage is on its way! When I get it put it together and clean it do I go ahead a put the toys in or do I let Oatis get used to the place then add toys a little at a time?
I don't want to over whelm him.
Also are there recommendations of how to introduce Oatis to his fury brother(Lyle) and sister (Sandy)?

My suggestion is to put all of the things in the cage now before you put him in the cage. You will find later on that quakers don't like change much and you have to do things gradually but since he has never seen or been in his cage I would have everything already in there. Just my opinion....

I agree with Sandi...put the toys and stuff in before Oatis comes home smile.gif

As for the introductions...let the two 'see' each other, but I wouldn't allow any physical contact. Make sure that if the cage is accessible to the other pets that you are there to supervise and make sure there is no aggressive behavior going on.

Yep all his own toys and stuff will help him accept his new diggs ...don`t for get we want pictures... smile.gif

I too would just stick the toys in before Oatis got in. As for the furry ones, my dog likes to watch them when they're on the table and she's on the floor, or I put them in their room on the floor in front of the door and I put up their baby gate and let my dog look at them at eye level through the gate.

Well, as much as I hate to say it...(she gets a big head) wink.gif LOL...I have to agree with Sandi again...put the toys in before you put him in...and put his favorite perch in the highest place in the cage...so he feels at home in there.
