I'm short. I'm short enough that it's not hard for a lot of things to above my eye-level (on the upside, I don't have to duck a lot of times where other people would laugh.gif ). For that reason I moved Mango to Pooder's old cage and Pooder took Mango's old cage. Mangos cage is just about 5' tall and I would say about 2.5' wide and 20" deep. Pooder, who is normally deathly afraid of anything that's not breathing, is strutting around on top of it, inside of it, and even on the sides of it. I think he's in love with all of the new room! What's funny is that this is almost the exact cage I wanted to get him since I started hunting. I originally wanted to get him a dometop and this one is a playtop and I also wanted it to be in the green vein, but it's a sandstone color.

Anywho, I thought I would post a picture of Pooder's Palace and see if anyone had any ideas one the myriad of toys he could now have in there? In his old cage, it looked crowded. Now, it looks desolate! tongue.gif

Besides the fact I'm a cheapo...When I first got Skeeter I was buying all types of toys and such for him. Right off the bat I discovered he seemed to like the box or package they'd come in better than the actual toy. Isn't that JUST like a kid?? LOL

I provide natural woods for him to climb and/or chew on. Also empty paper rolls - at times I leave him a piece of TP attached.
Using items like these are great because you can trash them when soiled.

Most everyone has that "junk drawer" somewhere in the home which if you'd go thru I bet you'd find lots of possible "toys".
Here's a pic of one I made as an example: Click to view attachment

Yes I would definitely put more perches in Pooder's cage, different types....
Tari
Oh yes! Perches are a must! I'm going out tomorrow and gathering up some sticks and plan on making use of the flower bendable perches that I couldn't use in the smaller cage. I'm planning on making a ladder for him to use.

I would love to get some foot toys and some foraging toys, but our petshop here in town is sorely lacking in those (as well as most everything else avian wise). Guess it's time to start dying sisal rope, cotton rope, and going from there.

Thanks guys!

Boy good luck with dying the ropes...I've been there done that...most cotton rope is wound so tight that only the outer layers soak of the dye...I had some mold before it colored clear through...Sisal isn't as bad...cuz its not cound so tight...but you get great tye dyed effects from the cotton rope...Have fun with it!

Yep I would add a rope perch and twist it so it comes from the top perch to the bottom or to the feed cups ...cute piccy BTW....now you have to show us Mangos cage ... rolleyes.gif

Mango's cage has a boing in it. He doesn't know what to do with it yet, but it won't be long, I'm sure. I'm also going to make him a sleepy tent. So, Mango's cage is a work in progress (as is Pooder's).
