Thought I would share this swing (made from a purse handle) that I made for my qp. I will be getting her Sunday. I am so excited. I hope she likes the swing. Do most qp like swings?

It is a very cute swing (toy) I am not sure your baby will be able to use it as a swing because they need something solid under their feet. It looks like those beads might move. It would however make a great toy. That is just my opinion.

I agree that you did a great job. But the beads will spin and the bird won't be able to stay on. But if you put it sideways he will love playing with the beads. My QP does not like swings. My Cockatiel loves them though, and will jump onto one to get away from Tiki if he is after her.

Thanks so much for letting me know that it may not work as a swing. I didn't even think about the beads being able to move. So if I took the wooden beads off and put rope or twine in the place of the wooden beads would that work for a swing? Or should I just not mess with changing it and keep it as a toy?

I say leave the rope and twine around it for now, and when you get your qp, let him have it for awhile and see if he attemps to use it or not. And remember, since he is a baby he may not want to use it because it's not solid.
My qp doesn't like swings either, but my tiel loves em.

Great setup for your new baby

Larry sits on a perch that is a row of colored clothespins strung on a wire. The clothespins spin a bit, but he loves it. He flips backwards and spins to get down to the next perch. Larry is rather indescriminate about what he is sitting on, really, so long as it is as high up as he can get.
Given time, your new baby will probably play with toys/perches in ways you've never dreamed of.
