Hi folks, it's been quite a while since I've been active in the forum (very busy and turbulent year) but now I have a question. I'm looking into make some perches and toys for Max and have heard that some of the materials in PVC are toxic. Besides, PVC is everyehere and I want something different. I've always been attracted to bamboo and am wondering if it's safe for use by QPs. (Use that may include chewing and such) Also, is one type preferable over another? They just seem to be color variations but you never know. Thanks in advance!

Bamboo is safe for parrots, so long as it isn't treated with chemicals or sprays. I have no idea as to the difference in colour variations, so I'd probably go with the natural stuff.

Bamboo is used for a lot of toys as a shredding material, so chewing won't be an issue.

Thank you so much! (And how about that, the reply actually matches what I wanted to hear! Usually my best ideas end up being toxic ones lol.)
