After searching for another recent post with a similar subject(As so I wouldn't create multiple threads with the same subject), the only result I found was from early '05. I'm not certain if the members of this forum mind old threads being pulled up.. so I took a wild guess and just made a new one.

I hope you all don't mind!... plus, some of the pets mentioned in the old thread may have passed on by now.
Basically, I thought it'd be fun to hear what other animals we all own aside from our loving QPs.

And why not tell just a little bit about that pet?
As for our house, we have a full one!
beside Don(The quaker) & Norri(the budgie), we have:
(3)DOGS:Frisk - Pug/rat terrier. 6 yrs old. Was my very first pet, that shortly put, was love at first sight.
Ethan - Whippet mix. 3 years old. Was adopted when he was one year old. He came from an abusive home were he was badly neglected and he had terrible manners and was certainly a pain for a while. Now he's the sweetest dog we've ever met.
Skylar - Husky/GSD mix. 1 year old. Adopted when he was 4 months old. Basically, just dropped off at a shelter with his littermates. He had worms, mange, and many other illnessess when he came to us. Now he's happy and healthy!
(3)CATS:Melani - DSH(tabby). 5 yrs old. Adopted when she was 6 weeks old from a humane society. She was the runt and didn't get enough food, so we fell in love with the poor girl. Now she's the boss of the house and certainly isn't skin & bones anymore!
Khaith - DSH(tabby). 3 yrs old. Found as a stray in the neighborhood. Followed us home and walked right into the house. Story short: He never left.
Kayla - DSH(calico). 6 mos. old or so. While at the local pound, we saw her amoungst a wide array of creatures(she was housed in the cat section, but they also had a live opposum & raccoon in there also, probably someone's pets that got confiscated for some reason or another). She caught our heart and we took her home.
(8)RATS+1 foster:Otto,
Venny,
Sid,
Ophelia,
Pocky,
Aiko,
Garber, &
Mason. Plus
Durbin the foster rattie. Their ages range from 1+ yr old to 7 weeks old. They're all just basically your typical cuddly, sweet rats... though Sid has a neurological problem that result in him being "not fully there".
(Just so you know, all the males & females are housed separately... we don't want any baby ratties!)
OTHER:Other than that, we have 3 mice, 2 lovebirds, 1 ferret, 1 dwarf hamster, & 1 ornate horned frog.
Plus, we have the 55 gallon aquarium in the living room housing African Cichlids & the 29 gallon aquarium that houses two goldfish(1 Ryukin & 1 Fantail).
Soon we will be adding an Armadillo Lizard to the family, also
Just so you know, the majority of our pets were rescues. Especially the rats. My family is known for taking in just about any animal in need if we can financially handle it.
Anywho, thats my full house!

Mandy- 7ish month old female cat who was a dumpster baby rescue. Found in a trash dump at a store inside a plastic bag with a sibbling that had already expired. Nobody wanted her cause she was stinky so I brought her home and bottle fed her with the intention of finding her a suitable home when she was old enough. That obviously didnt happen. She loves my grannys hair by the way- see attached picture.
Echo- green quaker who is now between 15-18ish months old who was a rescue (irresponsible family member) He used to be known as meangreen because of his aggression but that has changed a great deal. Just like any other quaker he has his moments but we have moved mountains in the 2 1/2 months hes been home.
Prissy- 8 year old Pied Tiel who was a rehome. Had a nasty case of Giardia when he first joined the rest of us crazies here but he has recoved a great deal and now fits right in. hes feeling much better and has since become quite the little instigator LOL he will do this certain whistle that he used to do to my moms dogs with the intent to get Echo stired up vocally. Once he does he sits back and watches closely arching his neck in different angles to get a look at him. When Echo gets squawking I have to get onto him to get things toned down of course. Not long after I suceed in doing so Prissy will repeat the process
I think he just enjoys seeing little brother get in trouble.. Or maybe he thinks as long as Im messing with Echo I cant bother him by making him take baths all the time haha
Last but not Least
ReePete who is a baby green Quaker who will be coming directly from Andies Ark

hes not home yet but hoping to be able to get things moving in the near future. Im not sure on his exact age But I believe he is between 4-5 months old but dont hold it against me if thats not true. Well our family is small as we (hubby and I are not young) so as they leave us we are not replacing ...
We have my daughters Dog..
Zeus...a 7year old Samoyed
Sunny the sun conure 6 years old...
Buddy the blue Q.P 3 years old..
Ben.....3month old white Rat
Billy...21/2 month black hooded Rat
I wanted some warm blooded furry critter to cuddle while hubby was away

so got the Rat boys ..its great they come alive at night when the fids are in bed and we get to play and cuddle...Rats only have a 2 to 3 year life span so I am hopeful of out living them

I HOPE...

I never knew how smart rats were , and they each have totally different personalities...
We use to have 2 cats our last was a good old age of 18yrs and we had to have him put to sleep as he ended up with cancer of the jaw , came on quite fast and it was sad but he had a good long life...
Here are a few piccys .. of the gang and of Frosty our old cat, now over rainbowbridge with quite a few of our other critters through the years...JJ (the red Australian king Parrot) is also over rainbow bridge..

yes in the winter they are in the house.. (summer and spring and fall they are outside we have a shed thats built just for them),and many of there cages are package taped shut so they cant get out.. and the 10ft burm is under lock and key..
Snakes make wonderful pets because unlike other pets if you dont have time to hold them they dont care! you feed once a week.. or every 2 weeks like us.. and clean once a week.. they are fun to take out in public too.. cause you will run into these big macho guys and they scream and run the other way... gives ya a good laugh!
I would suggest to anyone wanting one... and never had one to either get a ball python or a cornsnake as a starter.. cause they are very docile snakes. but remember all snakes can bite.. the smaller the mouth the less it hurts. we had a ribbon snake at one time (RIP Pigette) that everytime you opened her cage to get her out and clean it she would bite you which she was a smaller breed so it never hurt but it was funny to watch her try to get you. LOL
I will have to take some pics.. and share them if anyone would like to see them!

I love hearing about eveyones pets! Luckily I have a compassionate, patient hubby and a very smart, caring vegetarian son - AIdan who help me out a lot!
My family consists of.
Emeril QP- 7 months (lover boy)
Bono Sugar U2- 3 years (quickly adjusting to his new home)
Ring and Worm- (crazy Siamese brothers who I got a 4 weeks and were really covered with ringworm- now they are absolutely beautiful!)
Chivas - golden ret (the best dog to ever own me)
Wolfman (found on the highway and I stopped b/c he was lying there and I thought it was a injured coyote- turns out he is a wolf/coyote hybrid -says our vet, found his real owners a year after I had him and nuetered him - they did not want him back b/c they only wanted pups out of him- YAh for me!)
Trudy- boston terror
Olive- black n tan coon hound that the boston nursed when she had pups b/c Olives mom abandoned her! She still thinks tiny Trudy is her mom and is 5 times her size!
Tons of unnamed barn cats- they all look similar so I am never sure who I am petting!
Pancho (Paint)bollte fed and now he is almost 9
So-Co Morgan
Cyrano Morgan
Rocky Morgan
Pedro Min DOnkey
and two huge pigs that are my husbands and i am deathly afraid of them _ Large Marge, And tenderloin!

Everyone has so many different pets, such a variety! Because of the field I work in (I'm a veterinary technician) all of my animals are rescues and they all have a story behind them. Sulley, my QP, is the first pet I have ever paid for and that I got from a breeder... and I love him to death!

Here are my babies:
Mina: She is a 1 yr old female grey tabby kitten that I rescued last winter. I was visiting my parents for Christmas and my Lab brought this little tiny near dead kitten to me. I thought my Lab had done something to her and I was so surprised because my Lab "mothers" all the barn cats. But she was bringing her to me because she was so sick, she just gently laid her in my hands and just looked at me with her sad puppy dog eyes. I took her to the vet that I work for and she is a healthy, happy kitty now.
Click to view attachmentCali: She is about 3 or 4 years old and a beautiful calico cat. When I moved into my last apartment a few years ago she kept coming to the door and wouldn't leave. One of my neighbors told me that her previous owners had lived there and they dumped her outside when they left. They said she had been sitting at the door since they left.

So of course I took her in, I couldn't leave her out there.
Click to view attachmentI have 2 dogs and an iguana, but they don't live with me right now because I live in an apartment and they are not allowed. They are living with my parents right now (Honestly I don't think my parents will ever let me have them back! My parents treat them better than they treated my siblings and I

)
Radley is an 8 year old black lab and she is my BABY!! She was abandoned at the veterinary clinic that I was working at when I was in high school because she had parvo and her owners couldn't afford treatment. I adopted her and worked my butt off to pay her veterinary bills!! But she is worth every single penny, she is my sweetheart!

He loves to be scratched like a dog, he actually closes his eyes and leans into it! I adopted him from a humane society that I volunteered at while I was in tech school. He was brought in as a cruelty case and since the humane society doesn't keep exotics he was going to be euthanized and I just couldn't let that happen.

I have Rose my guinea pig she's my baby. A beta named Jaws Jr. And my new QP who I guess isn't named Bud now

my boyfriend decided that Bud wasn't good enough for 'em lol. Oh well, we'll decide on something together

I'm used to having a zoo but I moved from a house to an apartment and now I'm happy with my couple pets

But I'm glad to see I was normal with all the pets lol, everyone kept telling me I was crazy
