Ringo's Mom
I got a sliver in my foot today. I shudder just thinking about it. I am a sliver wimp, can't pull them out myself and can't have someone pull them out for me without me being a big baby. blush.gif I would rather handle the pain of the sliver than to have someone poking at it!

So, I get a sliver in my foot today and Tom gets out the tweezers because he is tired of seeing me limp around. I sit on the couch with Ringo on one knee and my foot in Tom's lap. I thought if I had Ringo by me he would distract me from the sliver removal process. sad.gif Tom picks up my foot, and here is the rest:

Me: Please be careful, oh man it's going to hurt, ouch ouch ouch

Tom: I haven't even LOOKED at it yet!

Me: Just please BE CAREFUL, I can't handle this stuff!

Ringo: be careful, be careful please be careful (he learned "be careful" a long time ago)

Tom: Great, now I have 2 of you whining...be careful be careful (said in a whiny voice)

Me: Quit playing and just do it! OUCH OUCH HEY DON'T TOUCH THE SLIVER STOP!!!!

Ringo: BE CAREFUL! (then jumps off my knee, runs down my other leg and bites Tom on the arm!)

It all happened so fast! Ringo just took off like a rocket and the next thing I know he has bitten Tom. Not hard, just sort of a warning bite. Tom started cracking up laughing. He thinks Ringo was protecting me. I'm not sure what to think, he does bite Tom every now and then...he has only bitten me once in over 2 years. Do you guys think he understood that I was scared or in pain?? And if so, he understood that Tom was the cause of my stress??

LOL...I just heard Tom in the living room talking to Ringo. He's calling him Mommys little superhero wub.gif

No, I don't think you were scared or in pain. I just think your Q was defending you because of the percieved threat your husband posed to you. If your Q is bonded to you, he loves you, and thinks you belong to him. Therefore, he is jealous and feels the need to defend you......and defending you means attacking someone who he feels poses a threat to you, and to his relationship with you.

hahah i have been there..lol Paulie took a bite out of my dad when i had to get a piece of glass out of my hand. Its a protection thing. in my case im mommy and anyone who hurts mommy is gonna get hurt too - by paulie. he's also very attuned to when i cry,

if i cry paulie comes over to me and tries to make me feel better. but if im crying cause of someone making me and that somone tries to play with him, ha no way. paulie will ignore them or threaten them. our fids are such smart little guys
