Quakermom
hey im thinming since there are alot of people looking to help quakers but cant find a specific quaker in their area, how about we split up the "needs a new home" with little sub folders

like New York,(qp in manhattan, brooklyn need home etc..)
Florida
Ohio,
Califorina,
And Oregon (and so forth)

if you like I can help creat it smile.gif

I think that would be a good idea. Except I think we need to break it up into:

East, West, North, South, something like that, just my opinion............
Quakermom
not bad idea that seems to work.. smile.gif yay

Great idea smile.gif

Gotta include Canada too.

Hmmm what about North East, South East, Midwest, North West, South West and then however you split up Canada? unsure.gif

Not sure what the "norm" is for separating those Krazy Kanucks into regions. tongue.gif

LOL

Well, we like to separate it like this:

Cold, Colder, Coldest, and Freeze yer behind off!!

Actually that is a good idea, but holy cow we'd have a lot of subfolders!! Not sure how the forum goddesses would feel about that biggrin.gif

I do like the idea of putting the state/province in the subject line though. But this all requires people following the suggestions when they post. As is, we still get a lot of people posting in the Needs New Home section and they aren't following the rules (they aren't posting about their own birds).

i know 50 states.. geez.. how about north south east west coast? darn..lol
equineRtist
Great idea!!!
Jacqui
Sounds good!

Even though I'm sure there won't be any need for an Alaskan or Hawaii needs new home part.

I agree .. I think there were would be quite a few sub-forums to cover off all possible regions keeping in mind that they would be empty if there were no birds to be re-homed in those areas.

My preference would be that the posts are kept in one forum and members post the location of their birds in the subject line .. however as Carrie~Anne mentioned we can't force a member to provide all information needed to allow for an easy re-homing ..

I find the current setup would be easier to manage as multiple folders increases the need to move threads around .. we are currently moving posts around daily within the existing forums..

As for those posting in that section that aren't following the rules ... we don't always see the posts in question and reporting it would alert us to possibly remove it.

As always .. I will ask Shelly to take a look at the suggestion and follow up. This is an old post and I apologize I don't remember looking into it ..

Thanks

I think you would end up with way too many sub forums and folders. and then what about people who are willing to ship their birds?

I just want to see them updated when the fid finds a new home - I hate all of the open threads that never update what happened with the rehome.

I like the idea of adding where they live , it would also be nice to add a picture in the post of the bird that needs re homed
Wayne
I like that

I think it would be a lot easier to put something like rehoming Quaker in Texas or where ever you are located you don't have to put a town if someone is interested they will pm you and then you can tell them what town.Etc.
