my quaker (fred)has never been terrified of one simple basket ball until last Saturday.once he saw the basketball he went coco bananas he started jumping around and screeching.and its not only the ball, any thing he sees that is the color of orange he will do the same thing as he did to the basketball.This never happened before.

hhm...thats interetsing...was the basketball bouncing or still? maybe he got scared and now associates anything orange with the basketball?...although I'm no expert

Some birds just have a hated colour. Loco used to freak out at the sight of anything red. He got over it after a while. I suspect that if you leave the ball out(if he'll stand it)for a while he'll get over it. Talk to him about it too. If you keep telling him it's okay and he's being silly, he'll be reassured just by the tone of your voice.

Our Quaker Maya, when she gets freaked by something will tell herself that it's okay and calm down.

I used to have a conure that hated ball caps. If you had a ball cap on, he would attack you.

I've learned with Georgie, she likes me better when I have my glasses on.

Nothing related to color but has something to do with objects.

It might be the color or the shape or size..its hard decoding quaker fears. I just know mine hated an orange jacket I had gotten for cmas last year...then again I hated it too.

ya been there paulie hates and i mean HATES the color purple..lolhe will drop off his cage before he gets near it. i wore a dark purple shrt and he squawked to high hell and ran from me.. hahaha hence why paulie's nickname is 'pollito' its spanish for CHICKEN!! hahaha
