I know the last thread I had made asking for info was about Green Cheek Conures, but I'd also like to know a bit about Pionus.
We still plan to add a 3rd bird to the family sometime this year, but I'm not sure what exactly.

Here is the deal. There is a Pionus at a local petstore that has been there for almost two years. I have gone in there numerous times this past year just to talk with her and a beautiful little conure with a plucking problem(both are perfectly healthy and all). I feel a bond with the Pionus.. and eventhough I didn't really want to get my next bird from a petstore, I fear I have fallen head over heels in love. wub.gif I'm not even sure what kind of Pionus she is...
She's quiet, which is a big plus with my mum! She's not too active and is kind of reserved, but has been opening up to me.

So... does anyone have anything to put in about this breed? They aren't common around here at all, so this is the only one I have been able to actually be around.

If you go to http://www.parrotstrut.com/forums/ they are all about Pi's. And they have sections of the forum for all bird species. I would look there. They almost convinced me to get a Pi laugh.gif

Pionus are nice birds...I've been around several different species, The Maximillian the Blue Headed, and The Bronze wing. All are pretty nice birds...they make great apartment birds because they aren't as loud as other species...And are a nice size. And I love their smell....

I was also told that they don't hold a "grudge" against you if you leave town for a few days.
