Well, you all remember that Gracie recently barbered her entire chest horribly when she broke her wing. She looked like fluff ball...

Well check out this picture from about a week ago, after her molt finally started...

Besides the fact she's being a total bad girl and trying to get to Georgia's boing... look all those lovely lovely feathers on her chest. I don't have any newer pics at the moment, but she looks even better now biggrin.gif wub.gif

NO sign whatsoever that she's messing with her new feathers... I'm sooooooo happy!!!

Thats a huge improvement. She must have just been so upset and uncomfortable with the injury that plucking was her only way of coping. Glad she's getting back to her normal, trouble-making self.

What is that blue box toy in her cage? I saw one of those on a web site and couldn't for the life of me figure out what is was for or how it was used. Does she use it? How does it work?

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread, but a slightly damaged, inquiring mind wants to know.

It's a foraging toy. She's supposed to unscrew the bolts and then the box opens up and she get goodies out from inside of it. We're not quite to the opening it up stage yet smile.gif I just recently, after a week or so of having it outside of her cage, convinced her it wasn't evil tongue.gif So now she chews on it and perches on it. I think in another week or so I'm going to show her how the screws work and put something yummy inside. She's not usually THIS leary of new toys, but this is so different from anything she has. But I really think she'll love it once she gets the hang of it. And it's stainless steel so it should last forever!!
