Hi everyone,

I gave both birds a bath last night. Milo qp use to get in the water and love it. but the last two times I have put his tub out he didnt want any thing to do with it. huh.gif I dont know what happened to him. and mr. nibbles (amozon) well the only time I can get him to take a bath is when I am running the vachum. He will then take a bath in his water bowl. funny and oh so pretty! well I didnt need to vachum last night. ok well I dint want to. anyway I put him under the kitchen sink and I think he was ok with it. happy when I stoped but didnt seem to be upset by it.

Heres the questions. should I put him under the sink like that? Are there any ideas on other ways to get them to want to take a bath? what could have happen to my little Milo? why is he acting afraid out of the blue like that? I put the tub in the middle of the table, where he usually gets his bath, but nothing.then I tryed putting it on top of his cage, still nothing. he loves the sound the water makes when you put your fingers in and slosh it around tongue.gif should I try to just put him in the water? I dont want to scare him anymore mellow.gif I got one of those shower purches but neither of them seem to like that much. I use a water bottle on Mr. Nibbles when he gets bossy.lol so I know he thinks that hes been a baaad bird when that comes out. so I dont want to use that for bath time.
thanks for any ideas you have.

This is just my opinion but what I have found is the more you force the issue the more adamant they are in not liking it and the potential is there to put them off bathing for you if they become afraid of the entire process.

Maybe invest in a spray bottle that mists and just mist them when they are not bathing and keep offering the bath dishes and sooner or later they will hop in to clean themselves.

I agree with Impy, We offer a bath dish for Casey a few couples times a week and she won't really want to actually get in it, then I start to mist her with the spray bottle and she gets all excited and then runs and jumps in the water on her own! laugh.gif I am not sure if that is any help, but you could try the spray bottle... smile.gif

Also if there is anywhere they can sit when you are having a shower, like on the shower rod or door etc. the steam alone is good for them too, if it turns out they don't really like bathing... smile.gif

Good Luck! smile.gif Others may have some more inovative ideas!

Just thought I would mention that you shouldn't let them bath at night. I never offer baths after 4:00 p.m. because I find they don't have enough time to dry out before going to bed.

Kiwi, loves the sink, i put a little water in it, and let some run very slow, she runs all around it , and under the water. took a while to get her in mine, but once she did thats the only place she will take a bath.

the previous owner said that is where she took a bath with her also, so she has always done it this way, the spreay bottle wont work, as it was used by previous ower as a punishment ( i assume ) she runs like crazy and gets very very scared when you pull out any kind of spray bottle.
